Merging music with social activism, Susann McMahon created ActiveMusic as a non profit organization based on transparency and dedicated to sustainability through reating partnerships with non profit organizations and the artists who support their endeavors. Susann affects change by using information to educate and empower the public to make responsible decisions and by creating awareness in communities through grassroots outreach.
Susann launched her career in activism and music production starting as a volunteer for the 1979 "No Nukes" concerts which were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which was an RIAA certified gold triple album and was an Academy Award nominated documentary film. The project garnered over $1,000,000 for non-profits.
During her 25 year career in production, Susann has established credibility for the quality of her productions and work with artists and the non profit organizations she serves. She has shown her skill of producing in all mediums, with all levels of artists, while raising millions of dollars for non profit grass root organizations and bringing a sense of magic, consciousness raising and professionalism to all of her events. Since ActiveMusic's inception, Susann and ActiveMusic have distributed over $1,500,000 to non-profits.

Devoting her career to non-profit media and event productions, her past experience includes:
• Producing "Dead Man Walking-The Concert" with Sister Helen Prejean csj, Tim Robbins, Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Lyle Lovett, Tom Johnston, Steve Earle, and Ani DiFranco at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles
• Producing a benefit with His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama for the International Committee of Lawyers for Tibet with Whoopi Goldberg and Richie Havens
• Produced a benefit with John Trudell, Bad Dog and special guest Jackson Browne, on Valentines Day, 2004 for the Women's Cancer Research Institute with performances by at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles
• Produced the Rex Foundation Benefit reception, dinner and concert with Bruce Hornsby, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart at the Marin Center
Produced event for Little Kids Rock media launch, with Bonnie Raitt, Tom Waits, Norton Buffalo, Jason Newsted, Austin Willacy; of their children's project which was covered by Associated Press, Rolling Stone, SF Chronicle and KFOG radio;
• Co-produced the 23rd and 25th anniversary benefit concerts for Bread and Roses featuring Lily Tomlin, Robin Williams, Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, and Tom Johnston
• Produced the annual BR Cohn Charity Events benefit concert, dinner and auction for eight years, artists included: Taj Mahal, Greg Allman Band, Little Feat, Doobie Brothers, Jackson Browne, Sons of Champlin, The Turtles, Joe Satriani and Roy Rogers
