ActiveMusic in conjunction with Alan Ames and Associates is proud to announce the addition of Houston favorite Carolyn Wonderland for our New Orleans Musicians’ relief benefit concerts at the Warehouse Live Concert Hall in Houston Texas on Friday, June 30 th 2006. The concert features The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Johnette Napolitano along with Special Guests, the Soul Rebels Brass Band and hosted by Kinky Friedman.
The event will benefit the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, a non profit organization dedicated to assisting New Orleans based musicians, with additional proceeds going to the Houston based Children’s Museum of Houston and the Houston Society for the Performing Arts. The monies received by the Houston based organizations will be earmarked for their New Orleans musicians concerts and will cycle the revenues back to the New Orleans Musicians Clinic who will be providing the talent and musicians from New Orleans.

The event will benefit the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, a non profit organization dedicated to assisting New Orleans based musicians, with additional proceeds going to the Houston based Children’s Museum of Houston and the Houston Society for the Performing Arts. Numerous musicians who performed at the recent New Orleans Heritage Festival autographed guitars which were donated by Alvarez, Gibson and Houston based Evans Music City and will be auctioned on Charity Folks.com as an extension of the Houston event.
Some of the artists who signed guitars and posters include: Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band, Dave Matthews and Band, Keb Mo', Ani Di Franco, Dr. John, Herbie Hancock, Hugh Masekela, Trevor Hall, Clarence “Frogman” Henry, Keith Urban, Buddy Guy, Little Feat and many others.
Houston business such as KPFT, Arrow 93.7 and American Express are just a few who are supporting the event.
The Concert will be filmed in Hi Definition by award winning director Alan Ames and Associates for an HD Net television special as well as for standard definition television broadcast and a follow up DVD/CD release to create a sustainable revenue stream for the New Orleans Musicians Clinic over the next decade.
