HELP RE-BUILD NEW ORLEANS “GREEN” AND SUSTAINABLE

CELEBRITY-AUTOGRAPHED BALDWIN “GREEN” BABY GRAND PIANO TO BENEFIT GLOBAL GREEN USA’s REBUILDING NEW ORLEANS GREEN PROJECT

This celebrity- autographed Baldwin “green” baby grand piano is being auctioned for the benefit of Global Green USA's Rebuild New Orleans “Green” Project. This first ever one-of-a-kind “green” piano is made from wood legally harvested from areas that pose no threat to conservation-valued forests or violate any civil rights.  It was played by two of New Orleans’ most famous “Black heritage musicians- Fats Domino and Art Neville-” during the 2007 New Orleans Jazz Festival and since then by Dr. John, Ray Brown Jr., Dr. Lonnie Smith, James “Fathead” Newman, Sally Kellerman, Sophie B. Hawkins, Melba Moore, James Moody, Freda Payne, Paul Williams, Terry Gibbs, and others.

The piano will be auctioned to the highest bidder.

The opening bid is $100,000 and the auction will take place from June 20 through July 4, 2008. This celebrity- autographed “green” piano is a rare gem and collector’s item whose sale will benefit the "green" re-building of New Orleans.  This piano represents hope, compassion and community – working together to make a better world.

Special Celebrity autographed guitars will also be auctioned.

Legendary Musician Fats Domino Autographs One-of-a-Kind Baldwin 'Green" Piano to Aid Global Green USA’s New Orleans Environmental Rebuild.

NEW ORLEANS, LA. (May 31, 2007) Legendary musician and New Orleans native Fats Domino sat at a one-of-a-kind Baldwin Baby Grand 'Green' Piano while visiting the International House hotel in New Orleans. While there he serenaded the crowd by singing one of his all time classic hits "Ain't That a Shame" then signed the piano to support the recent initiative to rebuild New Orleans “green” and sustainable. The “Green” piano is made from wood legally harvested from areas that pose no threat to conservation valued forests or violate any civil rights.

Fans can have a chance to also bid on items signed by Legendary artists, including signed Gibson guitars, special VIP packages and other items donated by artists who performed at this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Autographed instruments were donated by the Gibson Foundation, the philanthropic division of Gibson Guitar. Other auction items included signed posters and autographed memorabilia, donated CDs and special VIP concert tickets that also include after-show meet and greets with the artists.

The guitars, posters and memorabilia can be viewed on the Mezzanine at the InterContinental Hotel on St. Charles in New Orleans where they are displayed and BALDWIN has donated a baby grand green “green” piano autographed by Fats Domino which is on display in the lobby of the International House Hotel on Camp Street.

Artists Raise Funds to benefit the green rebuilding of schools and homes in New Orleans

T-Bone Burnett, Counting Crows, Huey Long, John Mayer, Steely Dan, Taj Mahal, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, ZZ Top, Roy Head, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Lucinda Williams, Rod Stewart, Roy Rogers, George Benson and Ottmar Liebert, are among the artists that have autographed instruments donated by the Gibson Foundation, the philanthropic division of Gibson Guitar, signed posters and autographed memorabilia, donated CDs and special VIP concert tickets that also include after-show meet and greets with the artists.

Donated by Baldwin, this one of a kind Baby Grand 'green' piano was made from wood legally harvested from ares that pose no threat to conservation and violate no civil rights. The piano will be autioned off to the highest bidder with proceeds from the sale going to Global Green's rebuild New Orleans "Green". The Houston Solution

hurricane relief benefit

The concert featured The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Johnette Napolitano along with Special Guests, the Soul Rebels Brass Band, Carolyn Wonderland and hosted by Kinky Friedman.

The event benefited the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, a non profit organization dedicated to assisting New Orleans based musicians, with additional proceeds going to the Houston based Children’s Museum of Houston and the Houston Society for the Performing Arts.
